While the colors are gorgeous and the yarn is soft, I found this yarn to be very difficult to work with as it has no stretch whatsoever. Perhaps part of the problem was I used too small a needle size, but I went with what gave me the correct gauge, which in retrospect was a huge mistake. But I was using a pattern that called for this yarn and I've never really had a problem with my gauge being off. I had to use so much pressure to knit with this yarn that my fingers and hands became sore - I totally understand the previous reviewer who said that she has two broken wrists. In the process of fighting with the yarn, it frequently split, especially on the crocheted border. Plus, one of the skeins had frayed yarn in two places. Finally, the manufacturer recommends dry cleaning!

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Cotton:

I purchased the Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Cotton yarn because I am knitting a baby blanket for my Niece who is having her first baby. I selected this yarn because it is 100% organically grown cotton, is very soft, and is washable. This was my first time purchasing from Americas Yarn Store, the yarn is exactly as described. It is easy to work with, very soft, and the colors are dyed evenly. It is truly a pleasure to work with.

    Service and delivery comments:

My delivery arrived promptly and in excellent condition. I will purchase yarn again form this company.

The yarn sheds a little but really not very much and I loved how it knitted up an all cotton chunkier top. Have bought more for a dress. Blue Sky Alpaca produces fabulous yarn.

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Cotton:

I avoided cotton like the plague for years: it ripped up my hands and I could not predict the growth of a finished item. When I discovered this yarn, I was blown away. I must have knit a dozen ruffled baby blankets (from the pattern by the same manufacturer) as gifts, and have gotten nothing but positive feedback.

The tactile experience with this yarn is delightful. Very soft on my hands, which is unusual in my experience, for cotton. It does shed a bit while knitting, but after a steam finishing, does not as much. I did *not* find any problem with splitting, tinking back is not a problem, and it does not grow any more than any other cotton product.

The color palette is delicious! It constantly inspires me. I would highly recommend this yarn.

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Cotton:

This yarn is my new favorite! It is 100% ORGANIC cotton (I noticed it did not state "organic" in the online description. This yarn is very, very soft and easy to work with. The only thing I have bad to say about it is that I found a knot in the second skein of yarn I was knitting with (one where the yarn broke, so they "fixed it" by knotting it).

This yarn is definitely very delicate, and should be hand washed. Another thing worth mentioning is that it is a HEAVY worsted yarn. I did not like how it was knitting up on size 6 or 7 needles, and am currently making a sweater with it that calls for bulky yarn and size 10 needles (and its looking great).
