Cotton Yarn
Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy
Ty-Dy is a cool 100% cotton yarn from Knit One Crochet Too. Using some of the same self striping effects from their popular Paintbox yarn, but transformed in a cotton, this yarn yields stunning spring garments that will have people asking you where you got that! Great for bags, too. Made in Italy.

Comments about Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy:
I was looking for cotton for some home items (wash cloths mainly). I don't like the 'kitchen' cottons out there (too thick & coarse - ugly colors) so when I found Ty-Dy I decided to try it.
Oh. My. Goodness. I love it! It's a great cotton to crochet with. It washes up soft & the colors are fabulous. My favorite colorways (so far) are Watermelon (248) & Oceana (699).
Yes, it is a little more than I'd like to pay, but I can get 2 wash cloths and a soap sack from a skein - not bad. In fact, I'm thinking of doing wash cloths & soap sacks as Christmas gifts.

I bought this yarn because the colors matched many things I owned. It is soft and bouncy and not stiff. The colors are lovely. I used this for my first experience in tunisian crochet for a sweater and it worked out well. The colors run long before changing.

Comments about Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy:
I am making a Log Cabin style sweater with this yarn. I wish the color runs were more consistent. It pools big, then there's a little blob and another big giant pool of the first color. Then you don't see color 1 for a long time. It is hard to plan this out. I guess it is good that random is ok.

I ordered several skeins tomake "wavy" scarves as gifts, and this pattern uses one skein and was so much fun to knit with.

I found that you can use less than the directions call for. Also had to downsize the needle size.

Comments about Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy:
I used Ty-Dy to make the "Slant on Nature" pattern which was in the Webs catalog. I wish I had chosen another color (I got the green/red), but this color is nice enough. Just not me. I made the sweater a little longer than I should have and ran out of yarn with 3 rows to go, so had to get another skein. The sweater is nice and soft and I love the color changes with the pattern. I haven't worn it yet, but think it is going to stretch becase it seems fairly heavy. I am thinking about purchasing more of this yarn in another color for another project, and making this sweater again with another yarn that isn't all cotton.

I've used this yarn several times and really like it. It's soft and drapes nicely. A top I made for myself 2 years ago still looks great (I hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry).
