Cotton Yarn
Valley Yarns Goshen
We fell in love with this yarn at first sight. Valley Yarns Goshen is soft but the Modal® and silk not only add a slight sheen, but also durablity. Garments will not pill and will stand the test of time. Made in Peru.

I just finished a sweater for my daughter in law and a dress for my youngest granddaughter. What a delightful yarn to work with. Feels great in the hand and knits up beautifully. Love the light sheen the yarn gives to fabrics. Have now used 15+ balls of this yarn and have found not 1 knot in the skein. This is becoming my new favorite yarn. Hope it's not discontinued and that they add more colors.

Comments about Valley Yarns Goshen:
Found it difficult to use. Slippery and quite slick, very difficult to maintain even tension on straight single points at recommended size. Size 8 was sloppy and irregular; size 7 achieved 4.5 sts to inch, but still rather sloppy. My only resolution was to knit circularly using SIZE 6 wood tip needle to help control tension and achieve a more balanced fabric swatch with a gauge of about 5 sts and 6 rows to the inch. Highly recommend using smaller needles than size 8 recommended to achieve a better hand in the fabric.

Comments about Valley Yarns Goshen:
It's sooo soft and the colors are just gorgeous, plus the price is right. What I forgot from the last time I'd used this yarn was how many KNOTS there are in each ball. At least two, which they say is industry standard. Sometimes more than two. It's not my standard though. I wind up with all these teeny little balls to knit from and am forever joining yarn. The skeins are not that big to begin with. Too bad because this yarn could otherwise have been a favorite of mine.

I have used this yarn for tank tops and pullover sweaters. My next project will be using it for a vest. There is a slight shine to it and it shows good stich definition. The on-line colors are true to the actual. I machine wash on cold gentle cycle and lay flat. Once dry, I roll the garment a couple of time to get the stiffness out and it softens quickly.

Please don't stop making this yarn. I made my husband a scarf in the Pacific color and I fell in love with knitting it and he fell in love with wearing it and wants a sweater. It feels so nice to work with I don't think I would ever tire of it with all the colors available. I haven't washed the scarf but my swatch washed very nicely.

Comments about Valley Yarns Goshen:
I am new to knitting (2 months), so not alot of experience with different yarns. I decided to try this for the "Modal Blend". I have had a 100% Mcro Modal Fiber Throw in my shop before, extremely soft. I am knitting my MIL a scarf for Christmas with this, its turning out nice and soft with nice weight and drape. I on the other hand have had splits in the yarn in all the balls I have used thus far. Otherwise 5 stars would have been given.
Comments about Valley Yarns Goshen:
I knit a lace scarf with this. Turned out beautifully. The yarn has a very nice sheen and the color is beautiful. I had no problems with splitting and enjoyed it in my hands.
Comments about Valley Yarns Goshen:
It's all been said above my entry. Like knitting with butter.
Comments about Valley Yarns Goshen:
I am using this yarn to make a simple summer cardi. I live in the south so something lightweight is essential. The sheen is gorgeous. The finished product falls beautifully. Just the right amount of stretch.
