Knit One Crochet Too Seda Rustica

Knit One Crochet Too Seda Rustica is an uncommon blend of delicious, drapey silk and downy-soft baby llama. This worsted weight yarn has a nubbly texture with some shine to it. Seda Rustica is woolen-spun: the fibers are carded before spinning, so they fluff up a bit in the strand. This makes for lots of loft, warmer garments, and also a bit of fuzzy texture. Truly one of a kind, Seda Rustica is sumptuously soft. Made in Argentina.

Breaks Easily

By Knitting Nut

Pros

  • Rich Color

Cons

  • Bits Of Junk In The Yarn
  • Breaks easily
  • Many Breaks In Skein

Best Uses

  • Tightly Knit Pieces

Comments about Knit One Crochet Too Seda Rustica:

This yarn must have been spun in a barn, as it had bits of straw or grass stuff in it. There were many breaks in the yarn skeins (I hate that) and the yarn broke easily when pulled hard.

It made up into a nicely cabled cardigan with good stitch definition. However, when wet the sleeves stretched way out. I had to re-block to get them back to the right length.

Colors between dye lots vary greatly.

Save the headaches and buy something else.

interchangeable knitting needles are the best, and I use them all the time; be careful to tighten them up every now and again if you are knitting something large, like a shawl or blanket.

I have made a hooded scarf with pockets for your hands. My hands did get tired after knitting for a while. The color selection is good.

this yarn cannot withstand even slight pulling, it tears into pieces and I spent too much time tying knots, I would not use this yarn again.

Comments about Knit One Crochet Too Seda Rustica:

I purchased four skeins of this, with plans for an over-sized drapey cowl. It does have a pleasing "rustic" texture, but also seems to be made up of the left-over short-staple leavings of poor quality silk and baby llama. The yarn has a large number of knots in every skein (varies by skein), and the worst skein (Amethyst dye lot 35567) was so weak that I trouble winding it off the skein - it broke every couple of feet. Very disappointing. It could be saved by using it doubled with a stronger silk yarn, but why bother when there are so many nice yarns out there? I was very disappointed.

              • Rustic Look And Feel

              Cons

              • Splits Easily

              Best Uses

Comments about Knit One Crochet Too Seda Rustica:

True to its name, it has a great rustic feel, like raw silk. However, it has no resilience and would require a special pattern, perhaps a light jacket using double stranded or combined with another resilient yarn for a scarf. I found it too wimpy for a scarf single stranded. When I finished my scarf project and was tying off, the remaining yarn simply came apart as I gave it a gentle tug. This would not be good for a fringe on a scarf, as people tend to 'play' with fringes.
