Louisa Harding Simonetta

Louisa Harding Simonetta is a blend of nylon, kid mohair, and metallic polyester. The kid mohair adds a lovely halo and the metallic polyester adds tons of fun sparkle! Great for accessories and garments. Made in Italy.

This yarn is used for my little dolls I design. I crochet a little head of hair for them and this yarn has just enough fuzz and then it has an added element of surprise with the tinsel. I love the color and the gold tinsel makes it look vintage.
I will certainly buy this yarn again in other colors as well!

Only good use for this yarn is scrubbing your pots and pans. It is UNBELIEVEABLY course. The metallic thread is overdone and looks like Christmas tinsel. There is so much of it (I knitted a lace scarf) that it mutes out the color of the yarn. Try S. Charles Collezione Luna! The best bang for your buck...a truly exquisite yarn.

      Comments about Louisa Harding Simonetta:

I bought the Simonetta pattern book to make a sweater out of this yarn. I'm using the purple mulberry color and it's such a pretty color. Perhaps a little too much gold flecks for my taste, but overall, the effect is very lovely. It knits up quickly using size 8 needles. It catches/snags on my skin unless I moisturize my dry hands. I think the sweater will be really nice, though. And I love Louisa Harding yarns and patterns!

      Comments about Louisa Harding Simonetta:

I made a sparkly, shimmery acrylic mohair-type yarn stole for evening wear that is a show-stopper. Women ask me where to buy one and then if I will make one for them. The yarn seems to no longer exist except as cheap fakey-looking knock-offs, so I am trying this yard to see if it will produce a similarly elegant, sumptuous, soft shawl. The olive color with gold patches is different from the all over soft shimmer of the other, but quite beautiful in the skein. I can't tell you yet about the knitting experience, as I am finishing up holiday gifts at the moment, but I am excited to start the project as soon as possible.

I have a lace scarf half made, and this yarn is really nice to knit. It works easily, and unknits just as easily when I make a lace error!
Has more body than you would expect for such a fragile looking yarn, and fabric looks good, not flimsy.

        Comments about Louisa Harding Simonetta:

Yarn is easy to knit but difficult to unravel because of the fluffy structure. It little itchy, I wouldn't recommend to use it for scarves or hats, maybe only for decorative parts of it. I made cape from this yarn. It's absolutely gorgeous! And warm. I get a lot of compliments on it.

Yarn at first appears stiff but softens up beautifully when washes. Glitter is nice accent without overpowering. Makes up into a lovely shawl.
