      Comments about Rowan Colourspun:

knits very easily, has perfect elasticity, blends gorgeously with reds and greens as a background for fair isle projects I have tried the Peny Ghent and Winterburn colours of this yarn but they simply do not compare with the Buttertubs to my taste.
My favourite stitch for this yarn is straight stocking stitch and I use a smaller needle than recommended for a tighter more cohesive look and feel.
Marie Wallin has created some of my favourite fair isle patters incorporating Colourspun yarns.
The only draw back is that hand washing is the only way to ensure a lasting finish for your project. I have shrunk my first project in the machine. Uggh!

        Comments about Rowan Colourspun:

I ordered the yarn for a specific Rowan pattern. I was surprised at the colors (yet, once again and again and again) but it's what the pattern called for so even though your pics of the yarn did not match the actual yarn, it didn't really matter as it was, again, for a specific Rowan pattern.

Knitted a pullover with Colourspun. The yarn is very soft and the sweater is very cozy. The yarn is a fuzzy so use it with stockinet. I used the color Semer water, a dark gray with a purple thread. The purple blends in with the gray and adds just a bit of color to the dark gray.

Soft and nice. But before knitting make sure to do a sample and count again your tension after washing the sample. It's really BIG difference. The yarn is good for smth. smooth and oversize - but not for definetely things which have to be in form and strong. Nice for shawls, swirls and scarves.

I love the soft color changes and beautiful fabric that this worsted weight yarn creates. I bought Colourspun in both a brown and a blue color way to make the Churchmouse poncho. The first one turned out absolutely stunning. Even my best knitting buddies were impressed, but honestly - it was all just this beautiful yarn!,

                    Comments about Rowan Colourspun:

I bought this yarn for the Skye pattern in Rowan 52. The pattern is written perfectly for this yarn, and I can't imagine as nice a result with any other yarn. The pattern makes amazing use of the variegation in the colors, the subtlety of the color differences, and the lovely heathering in the yarn colors.

I never in a million years would have picked up a ball of this yarn from a shelf. It is not a very appealing yarn on the ball, but I think this will be one of the most lovely things I've ever knit (in almost 40 years of knitting).

I haven't started my project yet, but it will be a modern version of a Norwegian sweater. The colors are exactly as shown on this site, and the service was excellent. Prompt, complete, and more economical than other sites. Will definitely revisit to make more purchases!
