    Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

I'm knitting a long vest. The flecks make this more interesting than a plain color but not as busy or unflattering as a self-striping type. The forest green color is really deep and will be good for winter pants.

    Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

I am using loden to knit a vest for myself. I love tweed and the chocolate colorway is going to be very wearable. I think I will especially love it layered over a chambray shirt. This yarn is easy to knit with and I have found very little chaff in it. The dyeing is even and there haven't been any splits or irregularities in the balls I have used so far. The yarn is itchy. I do hope it will soften with wear and washing. It seems to get softer from being handled (the yarn I used to swatch, then frogged and re-used, is definitely softer) so I am optimistic. I would not recommend this yarn for anything that would go directly on skin. My vest is going to be worn layered.

This yarn is beautiful looking and fun to work with but it sheds and it is a bit itchy. Wish I knew this before purchasing as I have a bit of wool allergy.

        Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

I knitted a vest and a sweater from Loden. Both are wonderfully warm and cozy. Sweater has seen a lot of wear (including weekend of hiking in the woods), but it does not show it at all. Both the vest and the sweater combine dark and light colors (fair isle and stripes) and I do not remember any problems with color run during (wet) blocking. It is NOT a next-to-skin soft yarn, you'll need a shirt to wear under. But I personally like this rustic, slightly scratchy warmth that such yarn provides. Highly recommend!

            Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

I am using this yarn to make a jacket type sweater. I love the color and the texture of this yarn, but it is quite scratchy, and I am worried about wearing the jacket without something under it. The service was great, arrived pretty quickly.

              Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

Grignasco wins again. Loden is a great tweed solution. Great for stockinette, but my best choice for an Aran designed vest.. It's just soft enough, yet holds shape beautifully.

              Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

A wonderful worsted weight tweed yarn at a reasonable price. I happened upon their beautiful lilac-colored Loden and it knits up beautifully. It's a little scratchy, but a knit softener removes that issue. Recommend highly!

                Comments about Grignasco Knits Loden:

The most disappointing aspect is that the color runs!! I finished knitting the skirt and prepped it for blocking. At that point, to see the color run in cool water was disheartening. I rinsed it 12 times to get it to get almost clear water!!
