I got a bit of a shock when this yarn first arrived; it was heavy, and the hank was much smaller than I'd expected. That said, it is a stunning yarn. The silk gives it a beautiful sheen that is only added to by the beads and small sequins.

I am knitting a snood for my Mum to wear when she goes to the theatre and other such occasions and I think it will be perfect.

It took me a while to settle on a needle size. I think US6 is the recommended one, but I wanted a more lacy look, so I ended up going with needles a few sizes larger. There's not really much scope for knitting a test square with this yarn because of its price and because there doesn't seem to be a lot of it, but it frogs fairly easily. I had a couple of test runs before I got started on my project in earnest. Unless you've got pots of dosh, I'd recommend it for small, special projects. I think it would make a lovely short-sleeved evening t or tank as well.
