Artyarns Ensemble Light

Artyarns Ensemble Light is a delectable combination of smooth silk and soft cashmere with a slight twist. The silk and cashmere strands take the dye differently and create a two toned yarn. Your finished product will have a slightly variegated look with the shimmer of silk. Made in USA.

Note: though the recommended gauge is 5 sts = 1", Ensemble Light is a 2-ply DK weight. Please be sure to swatch before beginning your project.

I have bought yarn from this source for many years. I have always found the product descriptions accurate, so when I noted this product was labeled 'worsted,' I bought it without hesitation. When it arrived, I was shocked. It is fingerling weight--not even sock weight!. So if you think you're getting a product like Cascade 220 worsted, be warned, you are not.

However, I will say that the yarn is baby soft, beautifully colored. I applaud Webs customer service who without hesitation agreed to take the yarn back and credit my card. Webs always makes things right.

Super-soft, this yarn does not do well with a lot of handling. It gets fuzzy. One thin strand of silk and one of cashmere, it can be doubled for a more substantial weight. A generous gift from my spouse.

This is a beautiful product; however, it is not a worsted weight yarn. I was shocked when it arrived. It is thread-like. However, I have conbined it with another, heavier yarn, and it crocheted up beautifully. I tried crocheting with it solo-a frustrating experience!

I found it a bit inelastic after the wool I was knitting with previously but once I chose the right needles (addi turbo for the welts & wooden cubics for the body) I just loved knitting with it. I'm going to use just over 2 hanks for a sweater so it's not really expensive. Worth the money. A beautiful drape and sheen and so soft to wear.

I used this in a knitalong which called for this yarn, It was my first time using it, and I will keep a hank in my stash for the future. Yummy time knitting, even though I have to pay attention to the stitch. The product is so worth it!
