Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend Space Dyed
Manos Silk Blend Space Dyed is a luxurious blend of 30% silk and 70% extrafine merino. This yarn is incredibly soft and the silk adds a slight sheen. Manos combines beautiful colors that will make any project, knit or crochet, one of a kind.
Manos Silk Blend Space Dyed is hand dyed in large kettles to create a marbleized, subtly striated effect that forms a rich palette of glorious colors. No two skeins are exactly alike and there are no dye lots. Colors may vary greatly.
We recommend buying enough yarn to complete a project. If there is great difference between skeins, we recommend working two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect. Made in Uruguay.

I've knit 5 "Shoulder Cozy" designed by Churchmouse Yarns & Teas. Four made quick Christmas presents. Yardage was more in some skeins, while a few skeins had no tie offs, others had at least one or two. Super soft once soaked and blocks nicely. If you want color, highly recommend the jewel tones in this yarn.

I love this yarn! It is so versatile and feels heavenly, both when finished and on my hands as I'm working with it. So far I have only done accessories with it for gifts, but I think it would be wonderful as a medium weight sweater.

This yarn has beautiful jewel tones that are difficult to capture in a photograph - though some skeins may have tiny tie offs, most do not. Blocks nicely and has excellent drape.

I made two scarves on knitting looms using this yarn before I learned to actually knit. The first project I made as a knitter was also with this yarn. It is soft, wears well abd drapes beautifully. Knitting with it was lovely- the yarn wasn't so slippery that it fell off the needles but not so fibrous that it gripped. Just about right. The scarf I knit for my daughter turned out well. However, she has terribly sensitive skin and can only wear the scarf with a turtleneck. I can wear it even though I also have sensitive skin- just not as bad as hers. This is my go to yarn, even though I'm having a lot of fun trying other brands as well.

I'm using this yarn at the moment to knit my almost one-year-old son a little sweater. I am getting so much pleasure from it - the texture, the colour, the results; all delightful. I'm using the Caribe colour, which is so aptly named; I am constantly reminded of the colours of the Caribbean, a nice diversion from the chilly Aussie winter. I would happily recommend this yarn to anyone. The only minor (very) downside I've noted is several knots in the first skein I've used, but hey, you want fabulous, hand-made yarn that gives back to its creators, what's a few knots? Get some, you won't be dissappointed. :-)
