I bought the yarn in a classic off-white color as it's for a man's winter dress scarf. It is excellent for lace knitting also. You can't go wrong with white or ivory, but anything knitted in a more dramatic color would be lovely. I absolutely love alpaca. It's marvelous to knit with, and this silk/alpaca blend has a nice sheen that regular alpaca does not have.

I enjoyed knitting with this yarn. I don't know if the color pools since I'm knitting with a slip stitch pattern, which breaks up the colors nicely. It does look like it might stripe.
