Am making the Thetis sweater with this yarn and it is a pleasure. I was not surprised by the gauge since it is the same yarn used in the pattern, but it is definitely not a heavy worsted. I haven't found it to be splitty. The Tencel gives it a nice soft hand.

I used this to make a pullover for myself. Very comfortable to wear. Worked up very fast & even on size7 needles. Was not looking for heavy worsted category and did not realize that's how it was rated. Has a lovely hand, but did have a tendency to split, but have found that true of several Valley brand yarns.

This yarn is beautiful and glossy, no doubt about it. However, I don't think it is a heavy worsted. I was unable to make gauge with size 8 needles, and barely was able to make gauge with size 9 needles. The resulting weave was a little too loose to my liking, making it susceptible to splitting while knitting and snagging while wearing. I would like to see more heft and twist to this yarn to really make it a heavy worsted yarn.
