My comments apply to Baby Cashmerino used in the past, not to the current purchase. Although this yarn is machine washable, I handwash any items in which wool is a fiber. All merino is subject to pilling, and I don't want to stress it more than necessary. The tight twist of the yarn minimizes pilling and makes for delightful knitting by also minimizing splitting. I have found no tendency for uneven thick and thin stretches of yarn - a problem that has been driving me crazy about so many yarns of late. Colors are rich and colorfast. The yarn is very soft, and completed items are equally soft and itch-free. The name of this yarn is misleading. It is not baby yarn, which has the thickness of fine sock or fingering yarn. The thickness is closer to sport weight yarn. Cashmere is not the main fiber; merino makes up 55% and acrylic fiber makes up 33% of the yarn; cashmere makes up only 12%. The plump-appearing skein is misleading, too. The core is two fingers of air. Those 125 meters per 50 grams knit up fast. This is one of the many yarns that I wish would be available in 100 gram skeins because joining a new skein comes so fast.

Comments about Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino:

The machine washability and softness make this yarn great for kids and babies. The addition of the acrylic should help with wear (don't know yet, first time I've used it). If it sturdy, then I would add socks, mittens/gloves to the list of possible uses. Avoid tapered, sharp needles because the many plies like to split.

This yarn is amazing to work with. It works smoothly and is easy to rip out if you make a mistake. Great stitch definition. I am currently making a sweater with a lot of cables. The cables show up beautifully against the background.

Frogging is so easy so correcting mistakes doesn't stretch out or tear up the yarn. I love working with this yarn. I will certainly buy it again.
