Comments about Abstract Fiber Alto:
Used to make a sleeveless circle vest for my daughter-in-law. Nice crisp double ribbing in the skirt of the vest and smooth yoke. Excellent color variation. Washed on "hand knits" in the machine and blocked to dry.

Comments about Abstract Fiber Alto:
I'm two skeins into the Luxe Ruana (sans Cowl) from the Autumn 2011 issue of Crochet! (Of course I adjusted the pattern since it is shown in chunky and Alto is sport-weight -- I just didn't want something super-heavy.) And I'm thrilled at how it's working up in Pheasant -- it will be jaw-droppingly beautiful, and I can't wait to finish it!. It looks like the very essence of Autumn.
The color changes are so rapid that there's no pooling, and amazingly, all the tones are beautiful and clear (how do they DO that?).
The yarn isn't as soft as, say, baby alpaca, but it's nice and soft for wool. And the skeins are a great value with all the yardage. Good quality, too -- no knots, foreign material or other flaws. I'll be back for more!

Comments about Abstract Fiber Alto:
I've been a big fan of the Arucania dyeing method but this is just as pretty, in a different way. The colors are spectacular. This is also one of the softest yarns I've ever used. I'm just starting a sweater with it and will post again when it's finished. Also this yarn comes in 392yd pkgs which makes it a really good deal especially if it's on sale. Can't wait to buy more of this.
