I love working with this yarn. It does however break, and it is weird that only some hawks break and not others. I still would buy and use again despite this issue

Soft, meaty yarn, easy to knit

        By Nanette

        Pros

        • Easy to knit
        • Soft But Hefty Weight

        Cons

        • Color Is Duller Than Pic
        • Striping Not Great

        Best Uses

        • Hats
        • Scarf
        • Sweater

        Comments about Noro Haniwa:

I like the feel and fiber content. The striping doesn't knit up as pretty as other Noro yarns such as Kureyon or Silk garden which was disappointing as I bought A LOT for a sweater coat. But, it was on sale and I'm sure I'll still wear it!

        Comments about Noro Haniwa:

I got 2 skeins in color #9 to use for contrasting stripes in a sweater. I did a big swatch to test the color changes and adjust the gauges. Worked great!
Then I took the 2nd skein and started the sweater. The yarn broke on several rows. Still kept going because the texture of the yarn hides the weaved-in ends well. But it is very annoying! The other skein had no issues at all! Even after unravelling the swatch and using the yarn a 2nd time. How can this be? I wound both the same way, by hand, no tools, had them around my knees, wound into a loose ball!
Glad this Noro yarn was on sale. Good for trying out. This one I probably will not buy again!
