I knit a sweater out of this yarn earlier this year. Oh. my. goodness. SO SOFT! And a gorgeous sheen. My swatch washed just fine and so did my sweater. I get compliments on it pretty much whenever I wear it.
One thing that was NOT nice: Winding the skeins. All 6 were tangled and 4 or 5 of them had knotted breaks. It took forever to wind and russian join them.
You know what, though? I totally plan on buying it again. It was worth the hassle of the winding in order to enjoy the loveliness of the knitting and the amazing softness of the FO. I love love love this yarn. One of my favorites to date.

I had high hopes for this yarn -- it is Malabrigo -- but am disappointed overall. It feels like it's been overprocessed if that makes sense (think overprocessed hair). The two hanks I ordered took over an hour to wind because they were so tangled. The yarn doesn't have any body or sheen at all. Knitted fabric is nice at first but my washed swatch had no life to it. It's like this was a fine wool but all the life has been taken out of it.

Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
This is a beautiful yarn, soft and squishy, like knitting with a cloud. Once blocked and washed the first time, the drape only improves. I blocked by steaming it, then covering with a towel and steam ironing it through that. The colors are absolutely amazing--BUT make sure you pick out your skeins in person (or put in a note for the yarn-picker to get the skeins as close as possible), because dye lots are pretty much meaningless with this yarn.

Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
Have used this for several baby gifts now and found the yarn to be soft, attractive, and easy to work with. You cannot beat the price for the yardage either. But I cannot say I am convinced it would work equally well for larger items. I get the feeling it would stretch quite a bit and wind up floppy. Even the 6 month size baby jacket I made stretched out quite a lot with hand washing and I had to give it 10 minutes in the dryer after air drying to get it back to its original size. Still, I find it a great, affordable yarn for those little gifts and just wish it came in more solids and a few more unisex appropriate colorways.

Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
Ridiculously lovely to knit with. Luxury. Made a 9.5' scarf in a very simple, mind-numbing pattern ans STILL was sad to finish and leave this yarn behind.

I've used this yarn for beanies and hand warmers and Love it. It seems that the more I use the knitted items, the softer they get. Well worth the price.

Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
I like this yarn. The colors are wonderful, and I love how the shawl I made with it came out. It is sturdy, and is soft against the skin. I used the archangel color way. You definitely need to get the same dye lot though; the same color way in the sock yarn looked different.

Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
Wonderful Yarn. Did a gauge swatch washed it dried it came out wonderful. Plan to make a sweater using this yarn. I just need to finish some other projects before diving into another sweater.
Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
I, too, thought this would be THE yarn. Unfortunately, it is not. It is very slippery and has the exaggerated drape of bamboo. My cardigan (knit in sample size) is too heavy for this yarn. It just sags! The color is beautiful, but that's where the beauty ends.
Comments about Malabrigo Rios:
I just finished a cardigan (garter stitch and a lace pattern) and it looks fantastic. I loved knitting with this yarn and will buy more. It's amazing how our views of this yarn vary so much....
