Wool Yarn
Valley Yarns Stockbridge
The alpaca/wool blend in Valley Yarns Stockbridge reminds us of a favorite yarn that was discontinued by another manufacturer a few years back. Available in many gorgeous colors, this yarn is soft to the touch and has a lovely hand. Garments made from Valley Yarns Stockbridge will be cozy, light and have a nice drape. Made in Peru.

Comments about Valley Yarns Stockbridge:
This is really excellent yarn for the price however i REALLY wish it came in longer skeins. I am used to knitting with skeins that are 200 or more yards and so I feel like I am constantly having to change skeins. I purchased the dark charcoal grey and it is truly the perfect charcoal grey. It knits extremely fast on size 8 needles and has the look of a much more expensive yarn. I hope this will be the case with some of the other colors as I plan to use this yarn a lot. I wish they would make a medium charcoal grey!! hint hint....

Comments about Valley Yarns Stockbridge:
I just finished knitting a sweater for my dad with this yarn in "camel." The fabric knit up wonderfully, and the sweater is so soft. I wish that it came in longer skeins, or that at least I would learn to weave in the ends as I went. With only 100 yards at a time, a man's sweater ends up with a lot of end weaving! I was a little concerned because the yarn does have a slight sheen to it which I know could be off putting to some men, but the sweater looks fabulous--definitely not "shiny" or anything--and is "masculine" enough that I expect it to get plenty of wear.

This is a lovely yarn with a rich, vibrant color and yummy, soft finish. I have not completed my project yet, so I cannot comment on durability, colorfastness, etc.

Comments about Valley Yarns Stockbridge:
I ordered this yarn when another, more expensive yarn was out of stock in the color that I wanted. I can't imagine how much better the big-name yarn could be. This one is soft, pleasant to work with and a great value for the money. Additionally, the color choices are great. I would not hesitate to use it again.

I recently made a shawl with Stockbridge. The natural colour is so attractive. The yarn was smooth and easy to crochet with. I find it soft and not scratchy at all to wear, and I have sensitive skin. I bought it when it was Steve's Deal of the Day, which made it even more economical. Lovely yarn.

Comments about Valley Yarns Stockbridge:
I adore Stockbridge. I've made a sweater with it and enjoyed knitting every stitch (which is pretty rare for me, as I'm more of a product than process knitter). It comes in all of my favorite colors. It's an amazing value as well (as are all Valley Yarns). I'm planning a second sweater in Stockbridge and have the yarn waiting in my stash. Whenever I go to WEBS I have to hold myself back from buying more---but I stop myself because I have that second sweater yet to knit!
Comments about Valley Yarns Stockbridge:
One of my favorite yarns of all time. The yarn strikes a wonderful balance between being soft (definitely next-to-skin soft for me and most folks that are not wool-phobes) and wearing incredibly well. I made a cute striped cardigan with this yarn, and have worn it regularly (several times a week, at least) for over a year. There is nary a pill in sight, which is amazing to me. And, remembering back to when I was knitting with it, the yarn is wonderfully easy and pleasant to work with. Nice and smooth through the fingers with just a touch of halo from the alpaca fibers. I am extremely pleased with the yarn, both for the soothing knitting experience and the excellent finished product. Now... if only they would come out with more colors. Please?

This is a good, basic worsted wool. Easy to handle, and lovely colors.
Comments about Valley Yarns Stockbridge:
I've just started working with some Stockbridge I had in my stash, and am loving working with it. As I began my small project, I thought I'd like to make a sweater with it, and then I realized that it would also be a great substitute for another yarn that I've always liked (an much more affordable)! ;)
