I'm making a cable sweater (the Paton's Must Have Cardigan) and this yarn is wonderful for it. The cables and Irish Moss stich stand out really well, and the occasional dropped stitch doesn't drop far. I was worried that the 100% cotton would be too stiff, but it has a really nice drape.

Annoying yarn
I will not buy this yarn again. Yarn is sometimes frayed in the middle of the skein. Also, 2 pieces will be knotted together in the middle of the skein. Very annoying!

Comments about Kertzer Down to Earth Cotton:
Works well with crochet. Knits well too. Best uses I would recommend are for outdoor clothing and accessories, such as bathing suits or belts and purses. Can be used for throws and maybe even toss pillow. I would not use this cotton yarn for socks, too bulky and too knubby.

I made a mistake by ordering this yarn, I do not like the color of this yarn. It did not look like the color on the screen. I will not use it. I wish could retun it.

Comments about Kertzer Down to Earth Cotton:
I am excited to be able to work with organic cotton since this fiber is so energy intensive. A little bit of guilt goes along with it since we can't grow cotton up here in the north so it must be shipped adding to it's "cost."

Comments about Kertzer Down to Earth Cotton:
I used this yarn to knit fingerless mittens for a friend undergoing chemo and she was delighted to receive them. She commented about their warmth, and I was happy to know that they were warm. She is allergic to wool, and this was a great substitute!
