Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
Absolutely scrumptious! Love the colouring, which shifts cleanly, doesn't pool. It absolutely glides through your fingers. I'm allergic to wool, but this yarn I can even wear next to my face. I'm impatiently awaiting a couple of backordered colours to continue my jacket, but it's worth the wait!

Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
I'm using this for a moebius shawl. The project has been tossed around for a couple of years. The yarn felts with work (it's about 1/2 silk) so I can do spit-joins but it hasn't compacted while I've made it wait.
The pattern is a garter stitch with simple lace at intervals (from a Cat Bordhi pattern). Although a single, it shows the stitches well. I find it easy to knit (I'm using a size 7 Addi Turbo Lace needle). The yarn does not have a tendency to split; it flows easily through my fingers and around the needles. I like the way its multi colors display; there is no striping (an effect I didn't want), and the "pooling" is small - maybe a two-row "pool" (I like pooling, but only on the right project and this isn't it).
I fully intend to work with it again. I think a new knitter could use it, as I don't find it takes any particular consideration.
The only "con" (and I don't think of it that way) is that I don't think I'd use it for a felting project - but there are plenty of yarns to use for felting and, given the next-to-skin softness of this yarn, I would rather use it for shawls, hats, scarves, and perhaps sweaters.

Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
Made a sweater with lots of texture -- the stitch definition was excellent. And oh, the colors and the softness and the shine! No itch at all.
My sweater took more than 10 skeins, so I followed WEBS' advice and alternated skeins every other row. It was essential, because even within the same dye lot the color was quite variable. (All the variations were beautiful, but I didn't want skein-switch lines.)

Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
I have knitted, crocheted, and woven with this yarn, and it is wonderful for all three uses. Great colors, nice sheen and drape.
Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
I understand why this yarn is on backorder. It is soft and smooth. It flows through you fingers as you knit and you don't want to take the garment off. The colors are alive, fibrant. It's a pleasure.
Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
LOOOOVE this yarn! delicious colors, delightfully soft with wonderful shine and stitch definition. And, as usual with Webs, great value, too.
Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
I have completely fallen in love with this yarn, that I had to stock up. It knits up beautifully and is extremely soft on the skin. I have trouble with certain wools, even synthetics. I have very sensitive skin, but not with this. I keep pulling the unused hanks out of my stock-pile to hold against my neck, as it is so soft and squishy. "I just can't get enough"
Comments about Malabrigo Silky Merino:
This isn't a melt in your mouth soft, but a soft that is cozy, warm, and comfortable with out the itch factor. What wasn't mentioned was that the silk adds a beautiful shine to it. My stitches look beautiful. I am purchasing more right now.
