Manos del Uruguay Maxima
Manos Maxima is a single ply 100% merino wool, dyed in the spectacular colors Manos is known for. This soft, worsted weight yarn is perfect for bright, cozy garments, accessories, and projects for the home.
Maxima is hand dyed in large kettles to create a marbleized, subtly striated effect that forms a rich palette of glorious colors. No two skeins are exactly alike and there are no dye lots. Colors may vary greatly.
We recommend buying enough yarn to complete a project. If there is great difference between skeins, we recommend working two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect. Made in Uruguay.

I used this yarn for a blanket that turned out wonderful! Although the chocolate brown was not dyed evenly (it had some pink in it) everything else about this yarn was exactly what I was looking for.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery was prompt and the yarn was in good condition. Some of the items were on back order, but as soon as they were in stock I received them overnight! I even contacted customer service to change which address the back order items were to be shipped to (I moved) and they were very friendly and helpful.

The off white color is evenly dyed, but the three other colors I am using, are not and are not meant to be. That is the beauty of them.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was a little slow, but the yarn arrived before I was desperate, so this didn't matter except for the worry that it wouldn't come. Yarn was in excellent condition, and I was relieved that I could find it!

Knits up quickly. If you want that bulky look use larger needle gauge and double the thread, really beautiful! If you make a mistake pulls out and picks up very well with no snags.

I use this wool for creating small, beautifully colored, felted handbags. The selection of colors available and the artful combination in a single skein create a lovely, mottled surface that can be left as is, or felted over. One skein provides over 200 yards of fiber, sufficient for a small clutch or handbag. FELTS BEAUTIFULLY!

I used Maxima in "Chrysanthemum" colorway and made a cowl for myself in the Gull Wing Lace pattern. The colors are incredible and the pattern just popped. Very slight pooling in color but I'm not complaining. Everyone who saw this loved the colors and the yarn. It is very soft not at all itchy.
