Noro Mossa

Even more colorful and textural than the average Noro yarn, Mossa is a bold choice for fancy, unforgettable accessories and garments. Noro's Mossa yarn is a bulky weight wool blend with a unique construction. Multicolored wool/mohair fibers are so fuzzy and closely coiled that they're almost felted. The fuzzy fibers are twisted with a multicolored, smoother viscose/silk/polyamide blend strand. The overall effect is like a mini-boucle with a generous dose of gorgeous Noro color combinations. Made in Japan.

I've always been hesitant to buy Noro yarns because many of the original silks were so harsh and rough that I didn't want to touch them long enough to see if the finished product was softer after washing. However, this yarn is gorgeous, both the hand and the colorway. I bought it to use as a weft on something woven, so can't wait to see how it turns out.

not much life

I knited entire skein creating guage in different stitches. I felt the appearance was "dead" in color. Just wasn't alive enough for me.

I ordered this to knit-a-long with friends using an entrelac pattern for a shawl. The results are stunning. I'm keeping this one for myself!

    • Noro Colors

    Cons

    • Less Spring-y

      Comments about Noro Mossa:

Fun change from regular Noro texture, a little less springy so a little harder to work than other yarns, but fun for a change and colors are fabulous.

I plan to make a handsome unique handbag from this yarn. It is so colorful and so varied in texture that that I think it will be quite handsome. I'll make it on smaller than necessary needles as I do not believe it will felt.
