This was the most difficult yarn to crochet I have ever used. It kinked up immediately and constantly. I tried (1) working directly from the ball and (2) winding it into a cake using a yarn winder, but neither was even remotely satisfactory. Quality control is very suspect. The yarn goes from thread thin to bulky, undyed roving in a matter of yards. Even though I love the colors, I won't buy this again.

Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I used this yarn to make a shawl. The colors are absolutely fabulous! On the downside, it is unevenly spun and twists dreadfully, but, the colors hide the uneven spinning and make the twisting tolerable.

      Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

This yarn is fabulous for the most part. However, it is occasionally too thin and too thick. Never used a yard that twisted this badly. Overall, I love the Cotton/Wool/Nylon/Silk blend so much that I use it a lot for Shawls.

        Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I used Taiyo sock to make a shawl and it is absolutely gorgeous! The color bursts in these skeins are beautiful! The only downside to this yarn (besides dry clean) is that it twists easily and I have to stop every so often to untwist. But, the beauty of these colorways easily outweighs that little detail. I think I'll make one in every color!

          Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I am wearing the lace-front, short-sleeved sweater I just finished and it is SOOO comfortable, even as the weather heats up. Can't wait to wear it "out" so I can show it off...it's my first lace pattern so I was very pleased that I was able to rip back to where I started out wrong but the yarn was still fine with "re-knitting." I don't think I'd use if for socks, tho...I think it might mat too much, but, haven't tried it. I was also pleased that the whole project only "ate up" 2 1/2 skeins! I've enough left for another project, I think. Love this yarn! Couldn't find any negatives to post.

              Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I was very disappointed in this yarn. I ordered it because I liked the colors. I make socks all the time. The fact that this yarn is half cotton made me think it would be a good choice for summer socks. I started making a sock but the the yarn had no give and was very stiff and scratchy. I can't imagine why anyone would advertise this as a sock yarn.

An interesting sock/fingering weight summer (cotton blend) yarn that works up into a "texture-y" fabric - not sure I'd actually use it for socks, but effective for a light wrap, swimsuit topper etc.

                  Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

Not so easy to knit with as skeins are sticky. It is easier to knit if you rewind them before starting a project. However, the colors make it worth it. I have taken several color theory colors in my life. Noro's approach is unique. I use his yarn not only for the pleasure I get while knitting but if you really study the colors there is much to learn and translate into quilting and other creative projects.
