This was the most difficult yarn to crochet I have ever used. It kinked up immediately and constantly. I tried (1) working directly from the ball and (2) winding it into a cake using a yarn winder, but neither was even remotely satisfactory. Quality control is very suspect. The yarn goes from thread thin to bulky, undyed roving in a matter of yards. Even though I love the colors, I won't buy this again.

I made shawls using a Noro crochet pattern. The color schemes are just beautiful! The one downside is that it twists terribly. I will definitely use this yarn again!

    Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I ordered it a year ago and the colors were exactly as described and I made a lovely top for a grankid's B-day. it was stolen from the mail so this year I ordered it again, same color, and what I received was nothing like it. Colors were darker and muddier, not good for a kid at all. So order and hope for the best.

    Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I bought this yarn to make a pair of sample socks for a sock class I'm teaching. I saw the label said "sock" and assumed it'd be machine washable but it's not! The colors are beautiful as usual for a Noro yarn. It's nice to work with and I would use it again just maybe not for socks.

I used this yarn to make a shawl. The colors are absolutely fabulous! On the downside, it is unevenly spun and twists dreadfully, but, the colors hide the uneven spinning and make the twisting tolerable.

        Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

This yarn is fabulous for the most part. However, it is occasionally too thin and too thick. Never used a yard that twisted this badly. Overall, I love the Cotton/Wool/Nylon/Silk blend so much that I use it a lot for Shawls.

          Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I used Taiyo sock to make a shawl and it is absolutely gorgeous! The color bursts in these skeins are beautiful! The only downside to this yarn (besides dry clean) is that it twists easily and I have to stop every so often to untwist. But, the beauty of these colorways easily outweighs that little detail. I think I'll make one in every color!

I am wearing the lace-front, short-sleeved sweater I just finished and it is SOOO comfortable, even as the weather heats up. Can't wait to wear it "out" so I can show it off...it's my first lace pattern so I was very pleased that I was able to rip back to where I started out wrong but the yarn was still fine with "re-knitting." I don't think I'd use if for socks, tho...I think it might mat too much, but, haven't tried it. I was also pleased that the whole project only "ate up" 2 1/2 skeins! I've enough left for another project, I think. Love this yarn! Couldn't find any negatives to post.

                Comments about Noro Taiyo Sock:

I was very disappointed in this yarn. I ordered it because I liked the colors. I make socks all the time. The fact that this yarn is half cotton made me think it would be a good choice for summer socks. I started making a sock but the the yarn had no give and was very stiff and scratchy. I can't imagine why anyone would advertise this as a sock yarn.
