Noro Kureyon

Noro Kureyon is the original striping yarn. It is incredibly popular year after year and we can see why! Each skein of Noro Kureyon is a multitude of natural colors and no two projects will look exactly alike. This beautiful yarn is just waiting to be knit.  Made in Japan.

The first felted purse I made was for myself. I have since made 3 more for gifts and use Kureyon every time. I use three panels for each purse of varying hues. The color range is spectacular. I get many compliments on my purse, and have improved my process with each purse I make. I LOVE this yarn.

I knitted a pair of mittens with this yarn. The first mitten worked out beautifully. When I looked at the second skein of yarn, they were the same color number and same dye lot but the colors were not the same. I really had to work to make both mittens look similar. I had to start and stop with different sections of yarn and still they are very noticeably different. It was a last minute purchase to make for my daughter for Christmas with no time to return the yarn. I was very disappointed. It suprised me that someone who put the yarn in the bag couldn't see the difference between the two skeins and try to find a better match.

    Comments about Noro Kureyon:

my favourite use of this yarn is knitting the circular swirl coat it shows this yarn of superbly. Whats great about the yarn is its versatility for many garments and its ability to hide mistakes for the not so experienced.

    Comments about Noro Kureyon:

First ever Noro yarn and I'm disappointed in the lack of softness of this yarn. I didn't find any knots in either skein I bought. I love the colors, but the yarn is so coarse and scratchy, I would never use it for anything worn next to the skin. I probably won't buy this yarn again.

      Comments about Noro Kureyon:

My first Kureyon sweater, and I love this yarn. I am a Noro fan, and have knit sweaters with several bulky weights and with Silk Garden. Kureyon has deep, saturated color, and holds the shape of the sweater very well. I made the basic pullover from Knit Noro, with sleeves from the Vneck pullover. All the sweaters and vests in worsted weight use the same measurements, so the sleeves and necklines are interchangeable!

love the colors but am usually disappointed in the fact that there are almost always a couple of knots then the colorway is interrupted. many times there are undyed slubs as well. it is not soft enough for a scarf or sweater. it felts but only lightly.

Everything was fine except that your site wouldn't let me mail it to my friend instead of my address and I had to re route it. I was using Pay Pal and perhaps that was the hangup but I was frustrated and lost almost an hour trying to make it work.

                      Comments about Noro Kureyon:

I used this wool because to me Sweater=Winter, an Winter=Wool! Though the pattern "Trinity Stitch Sweater" calls for Noro Taiyo, which is a blend and not wool, I just envisioned this as a hardy winter sweater. I love the thick-thin texture of the strands (though not hand spun) and the hand dyed, graduated, subtle colors. I also like a "cropped" sweater since I am short, and this pattern fills the bill. I added an extra strip on each sleeve to make it long sleeved instead of 3/4, and the kimono style sleeve is even more noticeable. I finished it Tues, and wore it Tues, Wed. and Thurs. to groups, and got many comments!

                      Comments about Noro Kureyon:

Knitted a double wrap cowl with Kureyon by Noro. First time using it. Felt coarse, but was assured it would soften when blocked. It knitted up very tightly and also had various yarn widths within which I didn't realize. There were also several knots tying yarn ends together within the skeins.
The best part is the color way.
