Iro incorporates a twisted ply interspersing slubs of light and dark for color and textural interest. Knitters will find it reminiscent of Kochoran in both weight and texture, but with a subtle difference in smoothness. Made in Japan.

Bought the yarn because the colors were great. Love the wool and silk blend...softens the feel of the wool when working with it. Easy to work with and finished products are beautiful.
However, this is NOT a bulky weight yarn. It is a "thick and thin" which has a lot more thin than thick :( Had to two-strand it for a bulky + weight hat pattern with size 11 needles. When doing a single strand swatch to check gauge, it was more like 3.5-3.75 stitches per inch with size 10 needles. I am not a tight knitter either. So, be sure to do a swatch first. It is, after all, the cardinal rule in knitting :)
