I knit a sample of Royal Llama Linen two years ago and I had no problems. It was a rustic-appearing yarn which felt good on my skin. Linen and silk are two of the strongest fibers around - perhaps the yarn was stored very poorly. In that case she should have tried to return it instead of throwing it away. Besides there are always ways of recycling unusuable yarn. I like this yarn.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Royal Llama Linen:
This was fun to work with, color is beautiful, and it hooks up easily. If you want stitch definition, use another yarn, Royal Llama Linen is all about texture & softness. It has a sort of rustic appeal that has a degree of sophistication.
A simple pattern will work best, fine details would be lost.
With short skeins and at least one knot in each, some people will dislike. I don't mind spending a few extra minutes weaving ends when a project looks good. My vest looks good!

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Royal Llama Linen:
I love the color and the feel of this yarn. I am making a summer open weave cardigan and it made up nicely. I had trouble when casting on one skein in that the yarn broke a couple times while I was casting on. I'm worried about the "robustness" of the yarn in a garment, but I guess I will find out.

I am finishing a cardigan and have had no problem with the yarn breaking and I am on the 10th skein. Both the color and feel of yarn are perfect.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Royal Llama Linen:
Still planning on trying to knit with it, but it broke a bunch of time as I was trying to roll it into a ball.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Royal Llama Linen:
I should also mention that I JUST received this yarn today from UPS, and it broke 6 times while trying to create a ball, no matter how gently I unwound it, and it knotted extrememly easily, took me hours to unwind and roll into a ball. However, I do intend to use it with another yarn in hopes that it will prevent it from breaking within the garment.
Pros
- Lovely color and texture
Cons
- Breaks easily
- Snags
Best Uses
- As a novelty with another

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Royal Llama Linen:
This yarn knits up very nicely. I made a shawl with a beautiful drape to it. The yarn has a somewhat loose twist, but it did not break on me at all.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Royal Llama Linen:
When long tail casting on, had problem with yarn constantly breaking. After several tries, I threw 18 skeins in the garbage.
