I've made several Icelandic style sweaters from Lettlopi. One hint to deal with some of the scratchiness of the yarn is to add hair conditioner to the final rinse water when you wash the sweater. A rule of thumb is, if you have short hair, use double the amount that you would use on your hair, long hair, use about the same amount you would use when shampooing your hair. The texture, once the garment dries, is about the same as angora after this kind of treatment. It usually softens the garment so that most people can wear it easily next to their skin, but if you are very sensitive to texture, you might want to consider a cotton tank top under a sweater.
If you don't want to waste expensive hair conditioner on the garment, buy some of the cheapest conditioner you can find. The yarn isn't picky about it.
Lopi yarn also tends to soften more with repeated laundering.
I find Lopi of any weight is usually most easily worked with steel needles as opposed to other equipment. Even though most sweaters are knit in the round, in stockinette stitch, it's important to keep an eye on what you're doing to avoid splitting stitches.

I'm just knitting ankle warmers (like short leg warmers) with this yarn, which will work fine as they'll be warn over socks. I can't imagine wearing anything made from this yarn next to my skin. It's lovely, but one of those dry-feeling, lifeless yarns that would itch you to death.

Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):
I bought this yarn for a Craftsy class "Top Down Icelandic Sweater". I wanted other colors than those offered for sale with the class. Webs offered plenty of colors. And when buying the amount needed for the sweater it came along with a fantastic discount. I saved over $15.00! It was also shipped very quickly for free. I will be back for more and highly recommend this company. No regrets!
I thought I would have problems knitting with this highly textured wool. I didn't have any at all. Frogging out stitches to fix a row or two did take a little finessing, but it wasn't the hardest I have come across. One plus to the wool is that when my needles slipped out of about 15/20 stitches, it was really easy to pick them back up. They didn't run at all, they just sat there waiting for me to notice.
After washing and blocking, the sweater really softened up a lot. Don't get me wrong, you won't get this confused with Merino. It isn't that soft, but it doesn't feel like a relative to Brillo anymore. I have heard from others that each wash will continue to soften it up.
The colorwork with this yarn is really nice and even. I was very happy that it turned out as nice as it did. I am now on my second sweater and loving this yarn even more. It is also really easy to spit splice and so I have almost no yarn ends to weave in.

Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):
Use this wool for the Lopi patterns written for it,and you will love the results. Works up nice and evenly especially with two color fairisle sweaters. The finished sweater weight is for indoor and outdoor wear. Light not heavy. Not coat weight.Use the Lopi Alafoss for coats. Some itchyness, just wear a shirt under. Yarn is not soft, more traditional wool feel. I like the corseness for stability. Holds it shape well. Colors awesome. WORTH the time and the price. If you love wool, you will love this yarn.

Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):
I am making an Icelandic sweater out of this Lopi yarn. It is working up great and it is easy to handle. The design is showing up well but I am using a red and white yarn and would expect a great contrast. Will definitely use this yarn in the future.

I purchased this yarn for a Craftsy class on a top-down Icelandic sweater. Despite its coarse texture--which is as it should be for this kind of yarn--I'm enjoying knitting with it very much.

Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):
I ordered one more skein to enhance a ruanna I was knitting for a friend. I only specified the color, not the dye lot, but it still blended in nicely, and in its application, lent a subtle color contrast. I very seldom follow a pattern exactly, I like to give each garment a unique look. Some reviewers found this yarn too harsh textured, but it has so much body definition, that it makes wonderful outer garments.

Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):
I love using Icelandic yarn for sweaters, although the regular Lopi is too heavy for indoor wear. Go with Lite Lopi (or Lettlopi) for indoor wear.

Made a vest with icelandic design on request from my daughter in law. Knitted up very nicely and took a lot less yarn than I estimated.

Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):
I'm a fan of rustic wools and Lett Lopi is one of my favorite yarns. No, it isn't even remotely soft but it is hardwearing, beautifully colored, somewhat weather resistant and amazingly insulating. The yarn itself isn't actually a single ply but two and each has a little twist in the same direction so it looks like a single ply at first glance. This is a great yarn for anyone interested in learning to knit Icelandic lopapeysas and is fantastic for colorwork. It's a great alternative to regular Lopi for those of us who live in areas with moderate winters, too.
I wouldn't recommend it to those who have trouble with anything coarser than Northampton or Cascade 220 and it definitely isn't next to skin friendly. That being said, the colder the temperature the softer it feels, and I'll second the recommendation to use hair conditioner or something like Unicorn Fibre Rinse to help curtail itchiness.
I'd love to see Plotulopi and Einband at WEBS as well but this is a great yarn to use if you love the look of Lopi but want less warmth or bulk.
