I bought this yarn for a Craftsy class "Top Down Icelandic Sweater". I wanted other colors than those offered for sale with the class. Webs offered plenty of colors. And when buying the amount needed for the sweater it came along with a fantastic discount. I saved over $15.00! It was also shipped very quickly for free. I will be back for more and highly recommend this company. No regrets!

I thought I would have problems knitting with this highly textured wool. I didn't have any at all. Frogging out stitches to fix a row or two did take a little finessing, but it wasn't the hardest I have come across. One plus to the wool is that when my needles slipped out of about 15/20 stitches, it was really easy to pick them back up. They didn't run at all, they just sat there waiting for me to notice.

After washing and blocking, the sweater really softened up a lot. Don't get me wrong, you won't get this confused with Merino. It isn't that soft, but it doesn't feel like a relative to Brillo anymore. I have heard from others that each wash will continue to soften it up.

The colorwork with this yarn is really nice and even. I was very happy that it turned out as nice as it did. I am now on my second sweater and loving this yarn even more. It is also really easy to spit splice and so I have almost no yarn ends to weave in.

My First Icelandic Sweater

I used this to make an Icelandic sweater. I liked that it is true Icelandic wool. There were some breaks in the wool and the join was not well done.

      Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):

This yarn is unlike anything I've used. It's a little scratchy, but not itchy if that makes any sense. Used them to knit up slippers and they're the warmest thing.

        Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):

When I first began using Lett-lopi, I came to it after using perfectly twisted merino. It took me some time to understand that a bit unspun and rough made for a better, warmer garment in the end.

        Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):

Bought this in several color ways for a traditional Icelandic sweater - ideal! A little coarse to work with but softened up after hand washing and blocking. I would not recommend for patterns that need sharp stitch definition, but for color work garments it is hard to beat.

        Comments about Lttlopi (Lite Lopi):

The yarn is a little coarse. However it is water proof and warm. You must hand wash items made from this yarn. I'm making sweaters for grandchildren. Easy to knit with. These sweaters will last 50 years if taken care of properly.

I bought this yarn to make a poncho and I think it's going to turn out very nice. I am a novice knitter and I find Lopi Lettlopi easy to knit with. It does shed, but I have found that most wool yarns do. I am presently working with the color black and I'm looking forward to trying the same yarn in a brighter color soon.
