In this case, you get what you pay for: stiff and scratchy! Can NOT imagine using for a child's garment. I'm going to finish my project and soak in fabric softener. I'm making fingerless gloves.

It's great to knit with, has nice texture.
Is lightweight and warm
. I've had very good luck with it.
Using a second strand of very soft merino wool or nylon lace weight yarn with it makes it super soft and pretty.
