It is dyed with organic plant dyes that produce no toxic effluent. On top of all this, Rowan Purelife Organic Cotton DK is an incredibly soft yarn! Made in Italy.

I've bought a lot of this and other Rowan yarn lately to make baby things for friends, and I really like this yarn except for the color inconsistency from skein to skein within the same dyelot/batch. I knitted a nice baby blanket in Oak Bark, and there was one skein that was lighter than the others and created an obvious band of color. The only other knock - and I don't even know that it's a bad thing - since it's made up of multiple smaller strands that are loosely woven, it was somewhat easy to split it while knitting.
I do like the yarn, though, and the colors. I like that it's organic and naturally dyed.
