Rowan Lenpur Linen

Rowan Lenpur Linen is a unique combination of Lenpur and linen. Lenpur is a cellulose fiber created from trees. Lenpur is different because it is extremely soft, very absorbent, releases dampness, and has deodorant properties. Combining this with linen makes an excellent warm weather yarn.  Made in Italy.

        It's depressing to think that there soon won't be any more Lenpur Linen since Rowan has discontinued it! I loved this yarn! It has a beautiful drape and weight. The stitches come out so evenly.

        I was planning on making a summer top with a lacy textured section at the top. I knit a couple of good size swatches--in both stockingette and the lacy textured pattern. The way the yarn spit and slipped made it difficult to manipulate stitches or correct even minor mistakes. The yarn has a lovely sheen and a substantial drape, but I decided not to buy more or make anything out of it. It wasn't the right yarn for this project.

        Choose your projects carefully. If I didn't already have a lot of other projects I prefer to work on I might use it for something that requires a thickish yarn with a lot of drape and uses simple stitches. A vest? But with so many equally pretty but easier yarns to use, why bother?

        Blocks beautifully. You'd think you had ironed it. It has a slight stretch to it. Colors great.
