Zauberball has been kicked up a notch, as two strands of the main ply have been dyed individually and then twisted together for a crazy combination in Zauberball Crazy! The end result is a self-striping multi-colored pattern, with a bold variegated design! Made in Germany.

The slow repeats of colour are unpredictable, so if you are looking for symmetry in the final product DO NOT USE this yarn. If wearing 2 different socks does not phase you, you will LOVE this yarn.
The yarn is great for socks, hard-wearing thanks to the nylon, but thinner than most north-american knitters are used to. I love it on 1.75mm needles (US 00).
It is not "soft" and therefore not suitable for baby items. It's great for shawls also. Check out Ravelry for what folks have done with it!

This yarn is not for folk who want to knit to identical socks or mittens. The color repeats are long and gradual, and show up best in sweeping pieces with play for the color sequence to fade in and out, or in entrelac where the colors will block against each other. But it would be very difficult to start a pair of socks both at the same point in the color repeat. Save this one for the dramatic. I made several variants of the Wingspan shawl with different colors of Zauberball Crazy, and each and every one is a show stopper.

I love knitting socks with this Yarn because the pattern is always unique. Each color flows into the next and creates surprising combinations. The pattern does not repeat itself so each sock is different but the colors blend together. There is no chance of getting bored knitting the second sock. The yarn is easy to knit and mistakes are easy to fix.

I'm using this for a pair of socks--they are absolutely beautiful. No, they won't match identically but I don't care. The colors are so vivid and change quickly enough that I couldn't stop knitting. Love, love, love these socks. They'll be my "feel good" socks for those days that look to be tough and long!
