I've used this yarn in many different projects and I always get the best reviews from the recipients of the items I make. I've made Shawls, Throws, Wristlets, Fingerless Gloves, Hats, Scarves, and crocheted jewelry...this is the lovliest, most versatile yarn I have used. I'm a big fan.

Feels light and soft, but a bit like acrylic, and has too much sheen. Splits every other stitch while cable casting on small needles. Colors have depths. I am knitting a Fair Isle with one skein of Louet Gems so we shall see what the FO will look/feel like.

Purchased yarn after the holidays and made a pair of socks. The yarn was so much better than I anticipated. Will be using this yarn a lot. Used the grey color with mulberry for rib heel and toes. So happy with the results. Wish they had the yarn in beige color.

In the interest of keeping the peace in my marriage, I am always looking for reasonably priced yarn that is enjoyable to knit. I am using Charlemont to make a Stripe Study Shawl by rain knitwear designs. I am so impressed. Charlemont is a generous fingering weight yarn -- perhaps it could be used as a sport weight. It has a lovely sheen. The colorway has depth. It is soft. I would love to see Charlemont produced in charcoal, my favorite knitting colorway, and pink, because I think it could be great for baby knits.

Beautiful yarn-nice soft sheen, lovely hand, and shows stitch definiton beautifully. Nice price and has some serious yardage-one skein made a pair of stockings for my rather large feet. One drawback is that this yarn shrinks like crazy!! I found that if I preshrunk it (hot water bath-ice water shock X 4) it didn't shrink much after this in the wash. This yarn makes beautiful soft and comfy, yet sturdy socks. I really enjou knitting with this yarn!!!

I was smitten with Charlemont from a far, while knitting, and now while wearing. Soft hand, durable and a pretty sheen...all that is missing from this staple of a yarn is a full spectrum! Colorwork takes a full spectrum to create and since I have purchased all but 2 colors I too would purcase more...especially yellow, gold, wheat, cream...capesh?
