Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
First, for Lova: I suggest that you reach out to Webs' customer service group. They are extremely responsive.
About the yarn itself: it knits up and handles as well as any of the other extra fine merino superwash yarns that I've used. It's a pleasure to work with, and it looks beautiful when I'm done. It's quite tightly plied, which results in well-defined stitches, although they don't pop the way they do with some other yarns.
The yarn's very forgiving. I ended up casting on three times and ripping twice with the same yarn, with no problems - the yarn looked as good at the end of the process as at the beginning. (Yes, I should have swatched rather than guessed at the stitch I wanted to use.)
I've only washed it by hand, and once per piece: I've only used it for gifts.

Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
I spend months making a very intricate baby blanket with wording and lace patterns. Finished in time for baby shower. Washed the blanket according to instructions. IT STINKS! SMELLS LIKE SOMEONE SPILLED SOME KIND OF PETROLEUM PRODUCT ON IT. IT ALSO FELTED! I CAN'T BLOCK IT! SUCH A WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY!
I am going to show the mother-to-be the finished product, but will purchase another yarn and make her a new one. Maybe I'll suggest she use it for the car and if it gets dirty to just toss it! So terribly disappointed. I purchased more of the same yarn for another blanket. I don't think I'll use it.

Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
I used four colors of it for the multicolored stripes in a sweater for myself, plus another six or so colors in a hat. It was delightful to knit -- soft, non-splitty, non-twisty -- and it washed and dried beautifully in the machine. I washed a large swatch first before I started the sweater and was amazed that it came out of the dryer (I set it at medium but my dryer is HOT) looking exactly like it went into the washer. The same was true of the sweater when I ran it through the washer (warm wash, cool rinse, normal cycle) and dryer at the end of winter. I cannot say enough good things about this yarn.

Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
I was surprised at the softness of this yarn. I am making stuffed toys and it's working up well. It tends to split but the softness and the fabric you get from it makes it worth it.
Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
This is the most disappointing yarn I've used in 50 years of knitting. The color was just what I wanted; knitting with the yarn was very pleasant. I completed a very complicated sweater and was excited to clean and wear it. At the very first -- very careful -- washing, the yarn pilled horribly; I have sweaters that are ten years old that aren't such a mess. I've worn the sweater one time, and it proceeded to shed all over my slacks and turtleneck. I was a mess within an hour. I won't ever wear the sweater again; I'm not sure it's is worth giving to Goodwill. Don't waste your time or money on this yarn. (I have given it one star because the system won't let me submit the review without a star...hmmmph.)
Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
absolutely the softest and loftiest yarn ever. I love the colors, and I know I will use this yarn again.
Comments about Valley Yarns Valley Superwash DK:
This worked REALLY well for the stuffed toys I've been knitting. The colors are so pretty, and the texture is amazingly soft. My only gripe is that it seems to pill and knot relatively easily; not a problem after it's been knitted up, but definitely a problem if you're the type who occasionally has to rip back a row.

This is a wonderful yarn. Soft, easy to work. A winner
