    Beautiful for Lacework

This product was awesome for my most recent lacework scarf. I'm buying a second color for a lacework sweater.

I wove a large blanket with this yarn around December of 2009. It is not an overly strong yarn as a warp, I had a lot of breakage on the selvages while weaving, but I kind of expected that. At first the finished product was great, lovely drape, sheen, and softness. As the blanket has been used, however, the yarn has pilled like no other. I'm not talking normal pilling for wool either, these babies are giant. There are fuzzies the size of my pinky nail over the entire surface. I would not suggest this yarn for weaving.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/10 Merino Tencel (Colrain Lace):

This is the best lace yarn I have ever used for crocheting because it doesn't go limp like other lace yarns and the finished projects have a wonderful sheen. I highly recommend it!

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/10 Merino Tencel (Colrain Lace):

I love this yarn! For some time I have tried different "lace weight" yarns to knit a lacy scarf or shawl but had to give up because the yarn was was too light weight or rather "wimpy" and it was difficult for me to follow all of the yarn overs and knit togethers with ease. This yarn is wonderful. The weigh is just right and so easy to handle and the sheen is lovely. I especially like that is on a spool and I don't need to wind it.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/10 Merino Tencel (Colrain Lace):

This yarn was the yarn recommended in a pattern for a woven scarf. It breaks too easily, especially at the selvedges, to be used for a warp. One test of a warp yarn is to give it a good tug, if it breaks, it is not really suitable for warping. It broke with a moderate tug. I love the red and blue together, but I have spent a lot of time repairing broken warp threads. The weft threads have stayed intact. I haven't knitted with it, so I don't know how well it knits.

I made a ball gown using the lace weight yarn for a very large skirt (gradually increasing to 5000 stitches) naturally this took a lot of time and handling. unfortunately by the time I finished, the beginning of this piece looked really old. disappointing as I was trying to create an heirloom piece and it took me hours to make.
