I just started knitting the Tide Pool Stole with this yarn. I'm using the color Seaglass. It knits up beautifully. The dye is very even, no color pooling. The yarn is very soft to touch. This is a fun yarn to work with.

I used this yarn to crochet the Sumac Berry shawl. Beautiful yarn, but I was not happy with the color. I ordered "Red Riding Hood" as shown in the pattern -- I expected more red/less orange. Be aware that this shade is a mix of orange and shades of pink (to my eye, anyway). If you want a true red, look to another shade. Otherwise, very happy with result.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk Hand Dyed by the Kangaroo Dyer:
I used Atlantis to knit a Rosalind shawl, which has a lovely celtic cable running down the center. This yarn was a perfect blend of texture to bring out the best in the cabling & lace. While not super-soft, the yarn has a nice hand and should stand up to normal wear & tear very well. I don't like fussy knits - if you can't wear it, why have it - and I'm confident that my Rosalind will look fabulous for a very long time. I would def recommend this yarn to anyone knitting lace or lace weight cables.[...]

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk Hand Dyed by the Kangaroo Dyer:
I give this yarn five stars because it truly is beautifully dyed. The colors I have ordered have not exactly matched the product picture in some cases. Seaglass was VERY purple / navy, and Bluemist had a lot of green. Tapestry, Rainforest, and Storm Cloud are well represented. The only one i was not completely happy with was Lichen as it had almost NO variation.
