Great Felted Bags
This yarn felts very well, holds its shape and works up quickly. It's my go-to for felted projects.

Weaving Project
Bought this yarn for weaving project (scarf). I would definitely not recommend this for weaving. It breaks constantly and sheds terribly. Wish I had not bought it.

Comments about Valley Yarns Berkshire:
I am knitting a cardigan based on old-time baseball sweaters for my son-in-law. Berkshire has the right colors, heathered light and dark grey and a bright orange (Baltimore Orioles). This yarn knits up very quickly into a light, wam, lofty fabric on US size 8. It is a single (not plied) and snags easily because there is minimal twist to preserve the loftiness. It is very smooth and I used bamboo needles for some grip to prevent slippage. It spit splices easily so I assume it would felt nicely. It is slightly itchy to me because of the alpaca content and i could f wear it, but I don't think this would concern most wearers. And the price made this a good bargain.

Comments about Valley Yarns Berkshire:
I have used this product for mittens, hats, and now a jacket. It's lovely and does exactly what I expect it to do. I am considering crocheting a rug with it; I think its particular felting capabilities would make it an interesting choice.

Comments about Valley Yarns Berkshire:
This is the second time I've made Linda Burt's "Quilted Diamond Vest" using Berkshire and I may have to make a couple more. This yarn and the aforementioned pattern are a perfect combination for winter: simple, classic design in a super-warm yarn. And because the Berkshire is a heavy worsted, it knits up fast in your chosen pattern. I also like that Berkshire comes in a wide range of colors.
The only cons I have are that the softer fibers tend to pill a bit at friction points like under the arms, and the single-ply yarn can be easy to split if you use sharp needles.

Comments about Valley Yarns Berkshire:
This is for a specific project, a shawl collared cardigan in Baltimore Orioles colors for my son-in-law based on a sweater worn by Babe Ruth. The heathered colors are perfect for this sweater. It isn't next to the skin soft, but great for an outer garment, and at 4.5 stitches to the inch the sweater is a quick knit. The yarn is not splitty, knits up evenly and quickly, and doesn't snag. There is a bit of shedding, mostly the alpaca fibers.
