    Valley Yarns Hadley

Valley Yarns Hadley is a gorgeous yarn that is spun for us, here in the United States by Jaggerspun. We have fallen in love with the incredibly soft blend of merino and silk. The silk adds just a bit of sheen and takes the dye a bit differently, so there is a slightly heathered look. You projects will be extra special when created with Valley Yarns Hadley.

    No problems for me

    Comments about Valley Yarns Hadley:

I did not experience the problems the other reviewer described. I would definitely buy more of this yarn. I made the Bluebell Cardigan and wear it often. A note about gauge: I don't know if I'm an exceptionally tight knitter, but I can't imagine this relatively thin yarn yielding 5 stitches per inch on size 6 needles.

    Disappointed with yarn quality

    By Anonymous

    Comments about Valley Yarns Hadley:

This was the first Valley Yarn that I have used, and was really disappointed with the quality. I bought this yarn in 2 colors this summer along with the related cable wrap pattern to make Christmas gifts. I was disappointed with the yarn quality - 4 out of 6 balls of yarn purchased in the first color had a break - 1 within the first 10 yards - so the yarn could have clearly been cut and started anew by the company. In fact 1 ball had 2 breaks in it. So instead of having 5 ends to deal with, I had 10 in a simple, 1 color wrap! In addition, there were multiple patches of poorly spun yarn, so the color and texture changed (instead of having the nice, deep rich color, it was pale and looked like it had been touched to velcro). On the very last ball used for the wrap, right after the break in the yarn, the yarn was not twisted at all and each strand ran straight. I had to hand twist the yarn so it would lay properly. If that had been my first ball, I would have stopped the project and returned the yarn. Perhaps my particular batch was unusual - I'm hoping so, as I have the second color to knit ... and I did find that the yarn knit up well and the end product feels good; I just wish the imperfections in the yarn didn't show as much as they do.
