This yarn is the silk equivalent of cotton yarns with a beautiful luster. This is the best cotton yarn I've ever used - I knit & crochet. Stitch definition is beautiful, easily get perfect tension. I made mittens to walk/run in for cool Spring mornings (perfect weight yarn for these) so my hands don't sweat like they do in wool now. Perfect mittens, and yarn would make beautiful summer sweaters too. Highly recommend for a perfect cotton yarn.

This yarn has a very soft and does not give a "dry" feeling to your hands. It has a subtle sheen which maintains even after two washes. Washing the garment is easy. In the normal machine cycle, tumble dry and finished in the dryer. Love this yarn. I will use this again.

I decided to try this yarn and compare it to the Berrocco Pima. The Berrocco I found was a bit heavy when worked up, but this feels lighter, and thinner. I'd use the Berrocco for later in fall, and this stuff for spring/summer. The colors are nice, and the swatch blocked well. The Cascade is shiny though, if that's not your thing, then go with the Berrocco - that stays matte in natural light, and only becomes iridescent under indoor lighting. With the Cascade, the color you see is what you see. With Berrocco, the shade is darker in false light by several shades. That's something else Cascade has - consistency in light. The only splitting I've encountered is if I twist it too hard - otherwise only found one (arg) knot while knitting. The "ginger" is a lovely putty shade, and sunshine really hurts your eyes.

I'm almost done with a summer sweater using this yarn. It knits up wonderfully, I love the feel of it!! Like the first poster - no splitting whatsoever.
