I've made several purchases of this yarn and when I received another review request, I thought maybe I should followup my previous review, esp. after actually wearing my first finished sweater and finding out how the stuff behaves. I do like the yarn, it works up wonderfully, washes and dries well. In fact, I recommend that you definitely use your dryer as this is a superwash wool and it needs that to bring it back to shape. I find that I may try going down 1 needle size for future projects because even though gauge was correct, I found that the sweater continues to grow throughout the day and needs to be spritzed and thrown in the dryer to tighten it back up. Also tends to pill a lot in areas where the sweater rubs against itself.

I wanted a superwash wool for a baby blanket. Cascade pills so much - so thought I would try this. It's beautiful yarn and it was very easy to knit. I loved the appearance after knitting. I washed the baby blanket before giving it to the new mom. There was *so* much fuzz in the washing machine and dryer! The drape was nice after washing. I really, really hope that fuzz/shedding will slow down with another wash or two. At least it didn't pill.

I used the yarn to knit socks. They were a little heavier than sock yarn, but will be nice to wear on cold winter days.

Comments about Spud & Chlo Sweater:

I bought this yarn for a baby blanket for my niece who is expecting her first child in October. I wanted a yarn that would hold up, look nice and be machine washable for her. The yarn is soft and cushy to the touch so it should make a wonderfully cuddly blanket! So far I have been very pleased while working it, no splitting and it does knit up quickly. The colors are beautiful too.

Comments about Spud & Chlo Sweater:

I love this yarn. I made a little sweater for a 5 year old. It seemed a bit heavy because of the cotton, but it was the cotton that made it so soft and cuddly.
I would love to see this in a DK weight. Then it would be my favorite yarn ever.

      Good Yarn for Warmer Climates

Comments about Spud & Chlo Sweater:

This is a good product, but it is best, I think, for people who enjoy knitting with cotton. Although it's 50% wool, it has the "give" and "hand" of cotton. That said, I am making a zip-up jacket for my grandson who lives in the Southeast. The cotton blend will feel good on his arms and neck and hopefully, will also provide just the level of warmth he will need during the winter in that climate.

Made a "Cascading Hearts" lace baby blanket with the "Tiny Dancer" color. Washed and blocked the blanket by hand before giving and the lace pattern bloomed beautifully. The new mother will of course have the option to machine wash the blanket. The yarn is on the pricier end but the project turned out well and I was proud to give it as a gift.

I loved the yarn when I was knitting it, but after the first wash it didn't look good as there were pills all over the sweater. Would not recommend this for an item that will be washed often, such as a childs sweater.
