I really like the feel of this yarn and it has remarkably good stitch definition for a chunky yarn. It blocked up nicely without tyhe stretching you sometimes get with bulky yarns.

I too thought this yarn was coarse upon purchasing it, but I knitted up a swatch and then washed/ blocked it and I was incredulous.... you absolutely should not judge this yarn until you block it out... It was soft and the halo was beautiful.

I agree with the prior reviewer that this isn't as soft as I thought it would be but am realising that alpaca wool seems to be coarser than generally believed. This was sent in error but decided to keep it and am knitting a chunky baby blanket and is turning out gorgeous with good stitch definition.

I ordered this for a sweater, thinking that merino/alpaca would be a good fit for my sensitive skin. I was surprised to find it is much more coarse than I expected! Hoping it washes softer...
