Bottom line - nice bulky yarn with good stitch definition (using size US11 for a nice chunky bulky scarf as a gift). However, like another reviewer, I have encountered some real color changes from the beginning to the end of the skein. On the scarf I'm making, it's OK and not so much an issue, but on a sweater or something it could be a real issue as the beginning of each skein I've used to date (5 as of today) has been really dark, closer to black and the end of the skein is silvery gray with little black in it. VERY noticeable, but as I said, on the scarf I'm making it's OK but otherwise could be a serious issue.

I liked Debbie Bliss Glen, but I wanted to love it. I think my expectations were out of line given the fibre mix of this yarn. I knit a sweater from her Glen brochure, with the recommended needle size which knit perfectly to suggested gauge, however, after I soaked and blocked it - the sweater grew 2+ sizes. I had to frog the whole thing (and endure the excessive shedding) and ended up making several winter accessories (hats, cowls, headband) instead. As a very experienced knitter (over 40 yrs) I'm not sure where I went wrong. My advice is that this yarn would be better to dry clean.

Comments about Debbie Bliss Glen:
This is making a beautiful sweater. I am a bit concerned about how it is going to come together once I sew the seams due to the color changes. You have to be careful to try to blend when adding new yarn.

Made snoods. I liked the light weight of the yarn, it's easy to knit, not heavy to hold. It does split occasionally.

Comments about Debbie Bliss Glen:
I am making a zip front cardigan for my husband with this yarn. It has lovely color shading and an interesting texture. I love how this yarn is interesting enough to carry the simpler stitch patterns in this cardigan, yet does not obscure the cables. It is softer than I expected, given the rustic nature of the yarn--a pleasant surprise. It is making up into a nice, sturdy sweater that is still soft, and yet user friendly for a man who does not coddle his clothing. :)I have also made him a hat out of Glen, and he LOVES it. (This from a man who sees hats as a necessary evil when the weather is cold.)
