Bulky 2.75-3.75 sts/in
Tahki Yarns Taos
Big and assertive, TAOS combines a velvety soft heathered wool wrapped with a thin thread for great contrast. Scarves will stand out and hats will hug heads with a stand-out flair. Try a pair of mittens and see how quickly they’ll knit up, or go for a warm winter jacket or cardigan, one you’ll never want to take off. Made in Italy.

This was a fantastic yarn and stood up well to the abuse it suffered while I ripped my project out, not once but three times. It never showed any signs of distress and I was able to finish off the project and have a beautiful sweater to show for it.
The color pooling was really lovely and I'd definitely use this yarn again.

Honestly I loved what I saw for color in the photo but that is not what I got. Most of this yarn is VERY DARK in color, black or green I believe, but it isn't nice and colorful throughout the ball as shown in the pic, very misleading. Just wanted to put it out there so others weren't mislead. I wish they had taken a full photo of this ball instead of the extreme close up. Very disappointed. Seems like a nice quality yarn that would keep your head warm though.

Comments about Tahki Yarns Taos:
Use in any project for texture and pops of color. Has such a wonderful hand that you'll knit to the end of the ball before stopping.

Comments about Tahki Yarns Taos:
The image on your website showed a brilliantly hued mix of Yellow, Orange, and Greens. It was happy...
The yarn I received was Lemon Yellow, Golds, and Hunter Green.
I don't know if I can trust your site for accurately photographing and then representing the colorway of the actual yarn you are selling?

Comments about Tahki Yarns Taos:
I made the Taos cowl pattern that was suggested with the yarn. The only hitch I ran into was that the pattern specified 3 balls but you really need 4 to complete the 12" depth of the cowl.
And with 4 balls, it was a close call to having enough yarn to finish. But I like the cowl, and it's cozy on a chilly day.

Comments about Tahki Yarns Taos:
I was so excited when I got this yarn, I started knitting up my husband's Chanukah booties, which I plan to felt. Most of the colors in 17 are pretty, but there's a jolt of sharp yellow that isn't pretty. Even though I got the same dye lot, one skein has a green that is noticeably different from the others. The extreme variation in bulk--literally giant wads of wool down to lacy strands of just the wrap thread--make it a little hard to knit up, and difficult to get a stitch count.
Still, it's pretty and I imagine they'll look pretty neat felted. Taos has been described at self-striping, which is really isn't. It's much more random than that. I might try something with it again in a different colorway, not sure.

Comments about Tahki Yarns Taos:
This yarn broke several times, - the wool broke, the thread didn't, - but it does work up quickly and has a great look for the finished project. I made a cowl and it really looks nice. I am going to make another cowl, different pattern and see how that goes. I would give this a conditional recommendation.

I did a cable knit scarf using two strands of this...super easy to knit, easy to fix mistakes. I've been knitting for just under a year and really enjoyed working with this yarn.

I love this color combo and want to use it as a weft thread for a woven scarf with a black warp thread.
