This is my family's favorite for shortie socks. I have made at least 3 pairs each for my husband, son, and daughter.
The fingerless mitts are nice because they stay put on your hands. I have made several pairs for gifts and everyone raves about them.
I also have made several chemo caps for friends. They use the hats primarily as sleeping caps because they stay on and keep their bald heads warm.

Easy and fun to work with, I thought I would love wearing the nicely patterned pair of socks I was able to knit with just two balls (200 yds). However, the fabric created felt so uncomfortable on the bottoms of my feet - even in plain stockinette you begin to feel every stitch. I knit two pair, just to be sure - and I truly would not recommend this yarn for socks! In case you absolutely must knit socks, a couple tips: be careful not to stretch the yarn when knitting (it's quite elastic) and be sure to dry your socks on sock forms or they dry quite misshapen.
