This yarn is rustic and not next-to-the-skin-soft. It would be interesting to try felting it, since it's so easy to join the ends invisibly with that technique. It's so much fun to combine 2 colourways in my doubleknit scarf I will probably order more for a hat and who knows what else before winter gets here.

I bought this yarn because of the color to knit socks. I was surprised at the coarse texture but not put off. I soon discovered that it has a very long color repeat which may be an advantage for larger objects but does not work a well for samller items like socks. I ended up with one green sock and one purple sock due to the repeat length. While I'm not bothered by this, you may be if you prefer symmetry.
My biggest complaint came when I ran into a knot. While trying to find a similar color in the transition to continue, I disovered that the transition beyond the knot was running in the opposite direction. I consequently had to begin unwinding the ball from the opposite end to find a color match and get the colors running in the correct direction. This lack of care on the part of the manufacturer is annoying and cost this yarn one star. It is why I called the yarn "user unfriendly".

Pros
- Dyed Evenly
- Easy To Fix
- Love Long Color Changes
Cons
- Don't Wear Next To Skin
- Found Too Many Knots
Best Uses
- Makes A Nice Shawl
- Scarves
Comments about Kauni Effekt:
I love the long color changes which make it fun to knit even if the pattern you are knitting might otherwise be a bit boring. I considered this an expensive yarn and did NOT like the number of knots and other oddities in the yarn.

Comments about Kauni Effekt:
i love this yarn and have used it many times to make beautiful scarves and a couple baby sweaters. the colors knit up beautifully. the only complaint i would have is that the colors vary per skein and can be unpredictable. i ordered the beige and it had a lot of orange in it, compared to the same color i bought at a different time that had no orange in it. however, if you can deal with the color differences, the result is always beautiful!

I'm using this yarn for a scarf so I hope it softens when washed. Color changes are perfect for this scarf.
