I used this yarn to make a pair of socks and was delighted. The colours were beautiful and transitioned well from one to the next. As another commenter noted, it takes a long time for the yarn to repeat - which can be good or bad, depending what you like. I really didn't want the socks to match perfectly and was happy with this whimsical result. If you feel adventurous and are prepared to just enjoy what comes next, it's great! The yarn does vary somewhat in thickness and I believe this is deliberate. It makes for some pleasant and subtle variations in the final product - though you definitely want to use double yarn on the heels and toes to ensure good durability.

I have made several socks out of this yarn. Each time I say I will never do it again, but the colors are lovely. The pair I just finished will be my last though. So:
    Pros: Lovely color transitions
Cons: Biggest - I found the repeat FINALLY by the heal of the second sock - there was not enough yarn to have made a matching pair of socks. I think I should have had the option of making a matched pair. In addition the yarn splits, and knots.

I now have 2 lovely socks made from the same yarn and pattern that do not look like a pair of socks.

Long repeat single in glowing colors

Comments about Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock:

Beautiful long-repeat slow transition color changes with minimal muddy areas between colors. Single ply rustic yarn with a bit of overtwist makes occasional kinking a problem. Strongly suggest rewinding pull skeins into outside pull balls and putting them in plastic zip bags before knitting. Used this in combo with a single color Zauberball for a rectangular variant on a 10-stich modular spiral lap blanket. Two skeins of Poem plus one of the Zauberball is enough for a baby blanket. Narrow strips of garter knitting show off the color gradient of the Poems to excellent effect. Very pleased

Comments about Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock:

I read the other reviews before buying one skein so I had a good idea of what to expect. The yarn I received did NOT have any knots, and it did not break or shred. It knit up well into a Lazy Katy shawl and blocked very nicely. That being said, the inconsistent thick / thin nature of this yarn would keep me from using it again in a lace pattern.

I used this yarn to make a shrug for my niece. it was soft for a wool yarn. I bought it solely for the color transitions which didn't disappoint. it might be a little itchy for next to skin wear but I have sensitive skin

It is dificult to do color work with it because the loose fibers on each yarn tend to tangle together and thus make it difficult to maintain a good tension.

I was disappointed in the feel of the yarn. I have sensitive skin so this yarn feels a little coarse and rough to the touch. I am hoping that it will soften with knitting and washing. The colors are vivid and beautiful so I hope it works out. I can always gift the socks out if I need to.

              barely twisted/spun

Comments about Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock:

Yarn is barely spun in some places. The lack of twist makes knitting with it kind of a pain, since it's easy to split. It's also fuzzy and so it 'catches' on any rough spots on my wooden needles (not that I've ever noticed rough spots before).

I bough the yarn because the colors are so lovely, and I blythely ignored the comments about how it wasn't well plied, and now I'm regretting it.

Yarn being splitty is usually not a problem with me, but with this yarn, and the small needles called for, it's very UNenjoyable to knit with this yarn and I have already sworn never to knit with it again (and I'm only on one sock cuff), barring it somehow turning out beautifully (which I doubt it will, since the stitches look uneven and I'm known for having very good even tension and an evenness of stitches on par with a knitting machine).

If the company makes a more spun/twisted version of this yarn (colors are gorgeous), I might reconsider, but otherwise after an hour of knitting with it, I've sworn off the yarn for good.
