Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox

Your tootsies will thank you for knitting socks in this lovely color-washed sock yarn. ALPACA SOX contains a generous dose of 60% alpaca with a heaping helping of merino to make soft, warm socks (or mittens!), and the array of colors in each skein makes for real luxury. A big skein of 450 yards makes two socks and then some.  Made in Peru.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox:

This yarn is great for socks. The 60% alpaca makes warm socks for cold feet, and the merino balances with the alpaca. The silk and nylon add strength for wear.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox:

I'm making a scarf from the Classic Elite Shawls, Wraps, Scarves book that called for this yarn. I've never used it before but did a test swatch and it's wonderfully soft, not splitty at all, seems easy to work with and the colorway I chose which is in greens is spectacular - muted but not grayed down, and just lovely. Highly recommend Classic Elite yarns in general. I've used a good number of them and they are all wonderful.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox:

I have been knitting for many years. The yarn is soft, but sturdy and feels wonderful as it passes through your fingers. Size 2 needles work out to a good gauge for socks or hats. I reinforce the heel and toe of socks since that is the area most likely to wear. One skein of yarn will make an extra large pair of socks or stocking cap. I always wash the garments in cold water on a gentle cycle. Zippered, mesh bags cut down on any felting.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox:

I absolutely loved knitting with this yarn - the feel, the colors and especially the outcome - my socks are beautiful! I got lazy the other day and threw them into a gentle, cold water wash. they felted ever so slightly; I'll not make that mistake again. I have one more pair in the "peacock" underway and have ordered skeins of three other colors.
