Sock Yarn
Valley Yarns Huntington
Valley Yarns Huntington is a beautiful solid color sock yarn. It is great for colorwork and patterns with more complex stitch work. Valley Yarns Huntington is extremely soft, machine washable and would also make fantastic baby projects. You will probably need two skeins for most sock patterns. Made in Peru.

The colors of this yarn are so beautiful and the texture is amazing. However, the spin is not tight enough and the yarn is splitty, splitty, splitty. It makes knitting not that fun. I am usually so impressed with the quality of all things Valley Yarns, but I was hoping Huntington would be my new go-to yarn and it did not do the job. I'll keep an eye out for other great products.

Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:
I am making a man's sweater with the yarn. The stitch is a slip stitch one so I am using lots of stitches to get where I need to be. Plus, I have had to rip back a few times as I learned the ins and outs of the stitch progression. The yarn has held up beautifully through my fumbling.

Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:
I have used this yarn to make gloves, hats, and socks, socks, socks -- and have always been very pleased with the results. The socks have been washed many times, in the machine, then laid flat to dry, and after more than two years still look like new. I love the wide color range. The yarn is softly twisted, which contributes to the soft feel, but in my experience the plies do not come untwisted enough to cause problems. I would recommend this yarn for any confident knitter, but maybe not for a beginner.

Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:
Very disappointed so far. I couldn't do the basic cable pattern I'd purchased the yarn with intentions of knitting. Then, even though I hold my yarn very loosely, a ply of the yarn broke twice before I'd turned the first heel.
I'd already wound the yarn so can't return it but won't buy more until the reviews indicate these issues have been fixed. Too bad as I've liked the other Valley yarns I've used so far.

Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:
This is a "use it and judge for yourself" product. It is like others in the Valley yarns line( very nicely priced-good yardage) and recently new GORGEOUS colors have been introduced (a terrific incentive for colorwork!!!!!) It makes for some nice soft garments. My gripe about this yarn is it is splitty, splitty, splitty!!!! I found it hard to work with-definitely not a good yarn for a novice to use because of the splittiness.

Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:
I am a relatively beginner-level knitter yet had no trouble with splitty-ness as some reviewers have mentioned. This yarn is affordable, soft, washable, knot-free, available in an array of rich colors, and comes in nice-sized skeins. I will certainly purchase more!

Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:
this yarn is a bit splitty, but certainly not the worst i've worked with. and i wouldn't want it to have a tighter spin, because that would make it twist too much, which i find just as annoying as splitting. the colors are rich (though the grey looks a little blueish, which i didn't expect) and it knits up soft and smooth. best aspect: so much yardage for so little money!

I did find the yarn split some, but not badly. It made up very nicely and soft. Love the machine washability. Wanted to buy it again in navy, but it wasn't available.
