Plymouth Yarn Grass

Soft to the touch, Plymouth Grass is a unique mix of cotton and hemp. Grass is multi-plied and has great texture with long cotton slubs. This versatile worsted weight yarn is subtly variegated and the finished fabric has a deep, heathered appearance and a soft, light feel. Great for warm weather projects! Made in Italy.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Grass:

I used this to make a handbag, and although it came out a little small (see not worsted weight), the fabric is lovely tweed. It's a fibrous yarn, not overly processed. I'm sorry it's gone. I don't know how it knits, but crocheting was easy enough and my rows were very even.

Crooked washcloth

By Mary Shaw

Pros

  • Fun material

Cons

  • The Work Came Out Crooked

Best Uses

    Comments about Plymouth Yarn Grass:

I have to admit, I was excited to get this yarn and try a new material. I haven't worked with hemp before. But I knit pretty straight, and this came out crooked. Also, brand new, it looked dingy and dirty. Which isn't something you want in a washcloth. I have another ball of it, and don't know if I will make another one. After all, a dishcloth is a dishcloth... but if I make it, I'd rather have it come out really nice, you know?
