Not as expected from fiber content

I made a crochet scarf from two balls

    Very thick and stiff feeling.
Color has no life or sheen to it.

    Would not use it again.

      Comments about Valley Yarns Buckland:

I made a shrug, which knitted up quickly with side 7 needles.I ordered lime green, but the color that came was even a better green. Loved it. You never know what color your going to get from your computer screen.
The yarn has a nice sheen due to the 20% silk it it, and has nice elasticity. A joy to work with. :)

      Service and delivery comments:

      My order came very quickly.

          Comments about Valley Yarns Buckland:

My project was a turban. I have made it three times with different yarns: a cashmerino aran and another silk blend. However, the nylon in the Buckland blend, provided a more snug fit and it has an expensive look. I'm very pleased with the results. I do plan to buy more. Thanks!

            Comments about Valley Yarns Buckland:

This was my first experience with a "braided" yarn. It is a bit thinner than regular worsted and I had to use a much larger size needle to get the correct gauge. It has a silky feel so suggest wood or bamboo when using double pointed needles. It provides good stitch definition, so don't expect it to hide mistakes. It is a lovely yarn, and I will use it again.

            Snags, but not badly

              Comments about Valley Yarns Buckland:

I'm knitting my first raglan sweater with this. It's a yummy stone blue, soft to the touch. But my fingers, fresh from knitting a jacket with harsh Shetland, had to get a serious smoothing with file and lanolin before I could knit with Buckland--it does snag on absolutely anything, even roughened skin.

However, now that I'm half way through the yoke, I'm loving its sheen, its stitch definition, its lightness. And the snags, even after frogging several times (hey, I'm learning!), don't appear to be a problem. Once I got used to it, I learned how to prevent it from splitting. Because it's braided, it was easy to catch one of the strands on my wooden cubix needle tip. Now that I know its ways, though, no problems. On sale, you can't beat the price for this quality.

Really nice yarn, so soft, love the colors. Beware with using the yarn for hats though, as it stretches quite easily and looses it's shape.

Very nice yarn. Didn't tangle at all. I always roll my yarn into a ball before using and this was so quick (unlike a lot of yarns).

Am adding this yarn to crocheted squares and using it to combine all of the finished pieces. It stands out beautifully against other yarns, even with the same fiber content. It looks silky and rich. It easily unravels if not handled well, even though it is a 'chainette' style yarn.

This is so, SOOOOO much softer than it looks like it will be when looking at the "ingredients" and I have been fighting with my man to decide who will be getting it. I might have to do a unisex scarf or cowl so we can wear it whenever we want!
