This yarn is so beautiful and soft to the touch. Prior to the first project that I made with the Berroco Vintage, (a blanket for my Mom for Christmas using Tide Pool and Breezeway) I had been using yarn from a craft store, but I don't think I'll ever go back. It knits up quickly, and the stitch definition is beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft it was when it knitted up, and while I used it to make a blanket, as previously noted, I will also be using the remaining yarn to make a pair of mittens for myself. It was also discountable, so this beautiful yarn was comparable in cost to the yarn I was buying in craft stores.
The one thing I would say negatively about the yarn was that in some cases there was less yardage in the Tide Pool color than the Breezeway, but not enough of a difference that it affected the project that I was making.

This is the splittiest yarn I've ever worked with.It probably needs a tighter twist. It also clings to itself, making it difficult to wind even with a swift and ball winder. And heaven help you if it becomes tangled in your bag. Little knots form , and they are very hard to untangle.

Comments about Berroco Vintage:
Not sure where to start, but this yarn is incredibly reliable, for every project and any age. It's quality is very consistent, it feels amazing, it knits beautifully, and shows beautifully the pattern, the variety of colors makes it just right for every age. I've knotted afghans, cowl, sweater, mittens, and amigurumi from the leftovers. It all came out great. Love also the yardage, which makes the price just right. Looking forward for the vintage colors.

Comments about Berroco Vintage:
EXCELLENT yarn - I can't make enough positive comments about it! Feels great - smooth and soft to the touch. Knits easily; a little splitty, but not nearly as bad as some other yarns I've worked with. Added bonus: it's machine washable - a must for a working parent on the go all the time! I'm knitting a sweater with this yarn, and I've knitted several sweaters with the Chunky variety and a hat with the DK version. No matter what the weight, I have fallen IN LOVE with the Berroco Vintage line of yarn!

Comments about Berroco Vintage:
I just finished a hoodie for my son using this yarn. It has enough wool to feel really great, but it is machine washable which is ideal when making something for a three year old! It turned out really beautiful. He's worn it a couple of times so far and already gotten many compliments!

Comments about Berroco Vintage:
This yarn is good for babies and afghans because it is washable, warm and very soft. I am making the Blue Sky Eyelet Baby Blanket (with the ruffle) out of the Chunky in Pink. It is so luxurious! I want to use the worsted in a vest for my husband next. It is not splitty at all. Some who say it is should try a different type of needle - it will make a difference.
Comments about Berroco Vintage:
I have gotten this yarn more than once now. First made my daughter a jumper and the color was beautiful (lilacs) and the cable-ing showed wonderfully. We washed it (many times on cool) and it's held up fabulously. So I ordered more yarn to make my boys matching vests with the same cables as my daughters vest. I haven't had much trouble with the splitting. I guess since I'm a relatively inexperienced knitter I just don't know enough. But this yarn has by far become my favorite.
Comments about Berroco Vintage:
Love this yarn; no pills, no fraying or splitting. Works up beautifully and colors are awesome!
Comments about Berroco Vintage:
Just received the yarn today. It's very soft like other reviewers said. However, my husband wanted a dark gray sweater so we picked #5145 (cast iron). It turns out is black. Very disappointed but learned a lesson going to other websites to verify the color before purchasing. We still like the yarn though.
Comments about Berroco Vintage:
I'm using this for some project for my kids. It's soft enough to wear next to the skin. I had few problems with splitting and found it easy to knit up. Nice stitch definition too.
