It is NOT worsted weight yarn. It is much thinner and splinters easily. The product is mislabeled on their website. I would not recommend anybody looking for worsted weight to buy this yarn. As a sport/fingering, it is ok. It is a little coarse/rough, but it's slippery too which makes it soft-ish. The colors have no rhyme or reason behind them, so you can often get large chunks of one color, small snippets of another, and then back to large chunks of the original color (and for me, it wasn't even the nice color, I got a drab gray-ish brown instead of the red and purple pictured). You could try to search for a good section, but good luck. I wasn't able to find a good chunk to splinter in, except for the outside layer. Not worth having to hunt for a good piece to knit with. I am now looking for someone to trade with me, so I can actually have pretty worsted weight yarn for my sweater.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Liberty Wool Print:

The variegated colors are very appealing. I made a hat using the "Glacier" Print as main color and the "Citronella" Solid as the contrasting color. There was not enough contrast between some of the colors, since I could not see all the colors of the print before selecting it.

I agree the yarn is a little light for a worsted, but the weight is OK for my climate. There were a few knots in the balls.

I'm addicted to making blankets using a pattern called lizard ridge. The knitting option I use is to get the most colorful result and this yarn is perfect and was recommended by the yarn shop where I took the class for this project. The yarn shop has gone out of business and couldn't find the yarn locally and fortunately found your website.

I have used this yarn several times and love it. Just finished a child's sweater and it turned out great. It did grow a bit when I blocked it. The colors are beautiful and it is so soft. Also great for children's wear as you can machine wash it. One of my favorites.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Liberty Wool Print:

I'm a pretty new knitter, and this is the nicest and most expensive yarn I've worked with so far. It is lovely, but there were some things that frustrated me about it.

First of all, it twists up LIKE CRAZY, which slowed me down a lot because I was constantly trying to keep it from twisting into knots as I knitted. It is pretty springy yarn so maybe that has something to do with it, but anyway... The twisting was a problem.

It also was pretty thin as far as "worsted" weight yarns go. I did use size 7 needles, and they seemed like a perfect fit. But it seemed to take a really long time to knit up, so my project took much longer than I originally expected.

Also, I picked out this yarn to make a striped color changing scarf, but with the way the colors change, it was not ideal for that. They tend to be kind of blocky, so as I knitted the yarn would change to a color, and then at random it would change back to the previous color for just a few stitches. This made the stripes a little weird and inconsistent, kind of patchy.

Overall, the scarf turned out lovely and feels nice and soft and seems durable. I haven't tried to wash it yet, but one of the things that drew me to this yarn over Noro was the machine-washability, so I'm excited about that.

Anyway, it's nice but I'm not in love with it. I might buy it again eventually, but there are so many other lovely yarns in my wish list that I will probably work my way through before coming back to this one.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Liberty Wool Print:

Absolutely love the multi colors, no muddiness , nice long color runs. Yarns feels soft at first glance but may not be the best for next to skin if sensitive. The weight worsted to work with is great , and am making a hat at 4.0 mm and I do plan to make socks in future at a much tighter tension/gauge , perhaps 3.5 or 3.25 rather than pkge recommend of 5.0 mm which I feel is too loose for anything but scarf perhaps.
The bad part of this yarn is that it is plied very loose and does unravell with knitting and it tends to be too easy to split and loose threads as you knit....wish they would better ply this otherwise great yarn.
